How To Do Makeup

Have you ever tried to follow a makeup tutorial on Youtube? Only to find that it still feels complicated?

I get it. I’ve been there, too.

There’s a simple explanation for this, and it’s not you.

YouTube makeup artists are fun to watch. They create some amazing looks with makeup. IT's absolutely an art form. If you’re trying to learn how to do your own makeup by following someone else’s tutorial, it may leave you feeling frustrated. Here’s why:

Chances are that makeup artist does not have your face or eye shape. When they place makeup on their face, it will likely be different from where you should be placing makeup on your face. The technique is dependent upon your specific eye and face shape, and the look you want to achieve.

So, when you feel frustrated it’s not due to your lack of skill or ability. It’s that you need direction and tips on how and where to place the makeup on YOUR face.

Also, in the industry today there is a plethora of different products formulated for different needs. If you try a product and it doesn’t work for you, it’s not due to skill level. Simply put, those products may not work properly for your skin type.

It’s okay, I’m here to help. If you want to learn how to do a specific look such as a true ten-minute makeup, how to apply lashes, birthday makeup, date night makeup, etc., and you’re frustrated that you haven’t been able to accomplish these looks; you may need a one on one lesson.

How it works:

You can (click here) for more information and to choose a date and time for your lesson. Then, I’ll send you a quick questionnaire. Answer all the questions prior to your lesson. I’ll send you a link to Zoom or Skype, we’ll sit down together and go through how to apply the makeup you already own. I’ll talk you through the process, answer any questions you may have, and recommend new products if you want/need them. All from the comfort of your own home! I mean, personally, I think that’s much more comforting than going to the makeup counter.

I used to do individual makeup lessons in person. Then Covid hit and mixed things up. Now I offer them online, which means it doesn’t matter where you live! We can sit down together and talk makeup.
