The In-Between; A Different Perspective When Feeling Stuck.

The in-between.

I used to hate the in-between. You know, that space in time between where you are now and where you want to be. That space where you can’t wait to have the thing, own the business, be in the relationship, have the career, and so on.

It wasn’t until recently that I realized… you are literally always in the in-between.

Once you’ve reached where you want to be, there will be another goal to achieve, another thing to have, another step in the process. All of that places you back in the in-between: where you are now and where you’re headed.

We are ALWAYS in the in-between.

I know. Mind blowing.

Once I truly realized this, I was able to lean into the here and now. The importance of living in the moment became a tangible reality instead of just a motivational quote.

Finding joy and comfort with the in-between does not mean you are stuck, unproductive, or not working toward your goals. It simply means you’re able to find happiness now instead of waiting for happiness when…

We’ve all been there: feeling like you will be happy when you accomplish, do, have, are…

I still go there at times because I’m human, and that’s okay. Having this realization and developing healthy coping skills to manage it just means I won’t stay in that space. Sometimes you need to have a short moment of “wtf” in order to reboot. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Now, I feel less guilt for occasionally being mad at the in-between, too. It’s important for me to stay in that moment and understand why I’m feeling uneasy and anxious. Diving in, acknowledging those feelings, and allowing myself the time to work through them means I’m still moving forward. It’s also the most effective tool in making sure I don’t stay mad, uneasy or anxious for a long time.

As you embrace the ‘where I am now’ process and enjoy what is right in front of you, it’s easier to imagine, manifest, call forth, and be excited about working toward future goals. It removes the anxiety and fear associated with never having, not being enough, failing, or not starting at all.

Looking for happiness in the next thing means you’re in a constant state of chasing. Which is actually the opposite of manifesting.

I’ve heard all these concepts for many, many years and still wasn’t able to put them into practice. The people I am connected to and the circumstances in which I’ve received this information, again, made it come to life this time. That’s the beauty of continuous growth, learning, unlearning, receiving, and giving.

Gratitude is the key to accepting and appreciating the in-between.

In your business, you will have moments of feeling like you’re in-between, maybe a little stuck, comparing yourself to others, and wanting to be further along. Learn to breathe and lean into those moments. Then refocus on what you’re doing right now and why that matters.

The ultimate goal is to find joy right now while also looking forward to the future. There’s so much excitement to be found in every step of the process. Where you are now is not where you’ll be in a year, two years, or five years. Take comfort in knowing that the in-between is where the good stuff happens. It’s where the future is born, worked on, improved upon, and grows.
